Merlin is an exciting addiction that I am hoping lives up to be half as good as the animals stacked up on either side of his pedigree! At just a few months old, he already has quite the presence, being both longggg and level. I hope that he can refine some of the smaller traits that the herd needs a little work on, particularly smoothing out forbidders and increasing body capacity.

Let's delve into his genetic makeup. His dam, Lone Rock Ts Maci is out of the 2023 West National Champion CH Wonderland EB Perilla 2*M EX91 and is by GCH Turtlewood JK Sitting Bull +S EX93. Maci is no slouch herself, scoring VG89 on classification as a young doe. 

On his paternal side, Merlin is by *S Mossy Rock PA Kava Kava VG85. His grandsire, +S Potting Shed HC Aster VG89 (OH), has been instrumental in improving the Nigerian Dwarf breed in Canada. Kava is out of *M Potting Shed MM Sweet Cicely VG87, another lovely Potting Shed animal.

Ultimately, the odds are in Merlin's favor to be an exceptional animal, but all we can do now is give him some time to grow and mature and see if he lives up to his genetic makeup! He may be used lightly this fall and cover one or two does.
